Quality Indicators
A quality indicator is an indirect measurement of, and a pinpoint to, the quality of the area being measured. The goal of this is to provide the public and users, health personnel, and leaders with information about the quality of the service at Rikshospitalet and Radiumhospitalet.
Overview
The project established its own website, as well as modules on the hospital’s website, which is automatically updated (on a few chosen quality indicators) at the hospital. The website obtains data from the quality register MEDinsight, which retrieves its data from clinical databases.

Roadmap
- Continue gathering of existing quality data, as well as convert existing databases to MEDinsight
- Establish MEDinsight quality register in the clinics/departments lacking quality registering today
- Further develop web tools which present quality data
- Establish a group with representatives from all clinics. The group will be responsible for gathering information and implementing routines and tools to retrieve data. The group will also contribute to making the clinics/departments aware of the impact of quality indicators.
- Establish a closer collaboration with the information department about how and where KI should be presented officially.
- Closer follow-up and collaboration with health expert support for retrieving of numbers for the enterprise. These numbers should be used to present quality indicators and serve as a corrective on our numbers.
- A questionnaire must be created for a user survey and need analysis, as a basis for specifications for a new web solution.
- A Ph.D. or master program for the project is recommended in order to study the subject.
